You're welcome!

I realize now I was juggling so many pictures that day I mislabeled that top one--it's Gour Nitai along with Lord Jagannath and Baladeva and Subhadra, but I was just looking at the thumbnail version. Oops!

or just "Deities" would cover it.

Really sets people up for constant failure that there is no sex in marriage except to conceive doesn't it?

Yes, it does. Only very repressed people managed this but we didn't talk about it. Everyone wanted to pretend they were following this standard--which made it awkward when you were suddenly pregnant without having told anyone you were trying to conceive. There was so much pressure on the householder men because they by definition were no longer completely celibate like the brahmancaris and sannyasis, so they didn't want to give the impression that they were "attached" to sex life. (And we always used the phrase sex life instead of just sex for some reason.)

Your story continues to be so very interesting, Tapati. :)

"Sex life" rather than "sex," huh? Seems like it's a way of distinguishing a way of life where you have sex from a way of life where you don't-- which makes it be about much more than just the sex (or lack thereof). . .

Much of the speaking and writing of our Spiritual Master referred to modern life being mostly about sex and sense gratification, which I think is funny since so many people feel like they are too busy and tired to be having all this constant sex we imagined they were having!

Yes it was a lifestyle, removing anything that might distract from serving Krishna.
