 KR Wordgazer signing in
« Thread Started on Apr 16, 2009, 7:54pm »

Hi, everyone! I couldn't use spaces in my username here, so I ran it all together.

I brief bit about my life:

I'm a 45-year-old mother of two (14 and 10 years old, respectively), and married 21 years to the same great guy. He became a "displaced worker" in 2007 and is currently pursuing a graphic design degree. I've been a paralegal at the same small lawfirm for about the same time as I've been married; I've lived in the same mid-size Oregon town since 1985. I guess "steady" would be a word to describe me, heh, heh. We may end up finally uprooting, though, once my husband's done with his schooling.

I became a Christian 30 years ago, and have been through several of the excesses of evangelical Christianity, including the "Word of Faith" movement in the '70s, (also known by the term "name it and claim it" ::) ), and a cultlike charismatic group known as "Maranatha Campus Mininstries." Older and more wary now, I have embraced a more mainline form of Christianity, though I still believe firmly in the Christian "basics" set forth in the Nicene creed, and in personal experience of God through Christ.

I graduated from the University of Oregon in 1985 with a Bachelor's in English. I am a proponent of the full equality of women with men in Christianity; however, I am the obedient slave of two demanding cats. ;D

KRW,

Unlike teachers, preachers and men in general, cats will NEVER steer you wrong.

Cheers,

Kitties are indeed harsh mistresses.

Wordgazer, I'm looking forward to your unique insight and perspective. And the inevitable debate that is sure to follow... *g*

I'm owned by three cats, including a very bossy Siamese.
