I find it easier to buy into be fruitful and multiply when you consider when the Bible was written at least several of your children didn't survive childhood because of disease or problems that are easily treated today. Having as many children as possible without antibiotics, clean water, vaccines, vitamins, diverse food is entirely a different reality than with modernization.
Hah, I had to laugh when I read this. It's *exactly* what I used to think when I read that particular verse. Happy is the MAN. Exactly. He gets to be the boss of everything, so why wouldn't he be happy? One tiny biological contribution, and he gets his quiver full, a slave for a wife, and credit for the greatness of his family.
