Hi All, Have just checked out the TWOP forum and they are reporting that Michelle Duggar has been airlifted out due to either (or both) pre-eclampsia /gall bladder problems (She is about 23 weeks pregnant with number 19). They don't whether to believe it or not, so I thought I would bring it over here to see if any of you knew/found out anything else about it. In my own research I have found: Blog 1: justinandjennsieb.blogspot.com/2009/12/duggars-need-our-prayers.html Blog 2: perfectisboring.blogspot.com/2009/12/please-pray.html Forum 1: www.preeclampsia.org/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=37453They all look like they got their information from different "real life" sources: so I think they can be considered at least somewhat reliable. For myself, I hope it isn't serious (or even true!). If it is true, I am really very sorry for her, and hope she gets better soon: not only for herself, but more for her kids. I also hope that JimBob isn't trying to keep from the media/public knowledge for selfish reasons: ie, because he knows he will be widely condemned for allowing the conception of another child and putting his wife's (and child's) life at risk. I sincerely hope everything turns out for the best for both mom and baby.

OMG. That is very scary. My docs saw me ramping up toward pre-eclampsia at about 27 weeks. They told me to go straight to the hospital. They kept me hanging on until 30 weeks. Then more complications and an emergency c-section. Thanks to modern medicine me and baby girl were just fine (after a long hospital stay).
23 weeks. That is bad, very bad. IIRC, survival rate is about 50/50 for kids that young. Hopefully there's nothing to the story and everything is fine.
I don't pray, but will think good thoughts and hope for the best.

A good friend of mine was hospitalized in critical condition for nearly three weeks after the birth of her son due to previously undiagnosed preeclampsia. She was advised not to get pregnant again. They chose to adopt a second child. I suppose that the Duggars would heed no such advice if something similar happened to Michell.
