Hi!
My name is Christy! I've been reading the blogs for several months now and decided to join the forum.
My family was never technically part of the quiverfull movement, I don't think, but we were close enough that I identify very closely with the writers of the blog.
I was home schooled for all of my education using the ATI program and my family were separatists, for lack of a better word. All of my friends were from our church which were also huge proponents of the program.
I particularly related to the most recent post, Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness, because in many ways it mirrors my own escape. Except that my family didn't actually disown me and my dad did walk me down the isle, but I was so stressed that he would make one last effort to prevent the wedding that I really couldn't enjoy the actual ceremony because I was worried what he would do.
My husband and I have been married 7 years and they have been the best 7 years of my life. We have three little girls, Emily is almost 6, Savannah is 3, and Sophie is 8 months. We love children but are in no way a part of the QF movement or our former home schooling program.
We have spent the majority of our married life in Texas, and we currently live in Egypt for the next 1.5 years, where my husband is a photographer. We reached a point about a year ago where we could either settle down and buy a house or we could go do something crazy. So we decided to have one last grand adventure before we settle down and here we are.
I'm excited to be a part of this forum! Thanks for having me!
