Hello all, my name is Kim or Kimmie if you like.
I found my way here from a mothering forum. We were discussing the Duggars and one of the members had been apart of a Gothard/Quiverful family growing up. She managed to get out after she turned 18. She gave me the link to NLQ and I spent 3 solid days reading every single blog.
Yeah - I can be a bit OCD...LOL!! I was taken aback by the stories and the lifestyle. I was shocked that something like this was really in exsistance. I am Pagan and so the notion of such ridgid living and dogma is something I am not familiar with. The closest I have ever gotten to Christianity was being baptized Catholic at age 8 (my choice) so I could go to religion classes on Mondays with my friends. I was an only child and bored. By 15 years old I was all set and left the church.
Now I am a mother to 3 sons - 13, 2, and 1. I have been married to my hubby now for 5 years in May and we are very happy. I was a sigle mom for 7 years prior to that. I lived through an emotionally abusive relationship with his father. Being who I am, I simply dished it back. Not a great way to parent, so I decided to leave. I went to collage and got a degree in Biology and Chemistry with an emphasis in Cell and Molecular Biology. I worked in nursing for 11 years and got severely injured in 2006.
I now work from home as I am disabled, as a freelance writer. Much of the work I do now on parenting forums and helping women get pregnant. I do write about a host of other things as well.
