But here's a question: being raised in a suppressive environment with no teachings on sex beyond "save yourself until marriage," just where would this young man have learned about "new things" to try? Not all kinks/fetishes are discovered through porn and whatnot. Most are acquired through everyday experiences. I could go on, but I really don't think this is the forum to start discussing various kinks/fetishes. ;D

Adam's behavior suggests to me that: 1. He was bullied and intimidated by his own father and taught that a domineering approach toward women is characteristic of a "real man." 2. Sooner or later, Adam is going to be one of those holier-than-thou Christian men who live a secret life "on the down-low," and sooner or later get publicly exposed like Mark Foley, Ted Haggard and Larry Craig.
Cynical? Who, me??! ;D

Admittedly, I've also read the next part of this story on Ruth's on blog, as well as other comments from her there that indicate Adam wasn't so much an awkward and sexually-frustrated teenage boy as an abusive-jerk-in-training. I think you mean this bit here, from part 20, and after reading it I'm going to vote for Adam being awkward, sexually frustrated, AND an abuser-in-training: This kind of thing is exactly why so few men can talk about how the patriarchy hurts them too and get much sympathy...even though it DOES hurt them too. It has this tendency to hurt the women more, and fewer women than men end up profiting so much from becoming part of the problem.

It's a crime to raise a boy to believe he is one day to become a woman's whole world. Yes, I blame Adam-- but I blame his parents, and this idiotic, idolatrous excuse for Christianity more.
