Hi everyone,
My name is Hunter, and I'm a 22 year old college graduate (as of 48 hours from now! Squee!). I've been reading this blog pretty much since it started and was featured on Salon. I'm very interested in American religions, especially evangelism, because many of my family members are involved in fundamentalist churches in Alabama. There is also a Catholic contingent in Kentuckey, which makes for some interesting Thanksgiving dinner conversations. I myself was raised by agnostic/atheist parents outside Philadelphia, PA, where I attended Friends schools (Quaker) and eventually became Quaker.
Because I realize that this has become a place of support for those who were or are involved in the quiverfull movement, I wish to be a respectful, quiet presence on the boards. Please let me know at any time if I'm making anyone uncomfortable, or if any conversation is "QF-only" because I very much understand and appreciate that you need a place to have your own community and share your experiences with each other. I am here because I was so moved by both Vycki's and Laura's stories and I want to learn more about your experiences and support you as a reader and witness when possible.
Thank you very much.
Hunter
PS- I should also mention that despite my somewhat masculine moniker, I am in fact female. Normally that's not something I would disclose on internet fora, but I think it's important in this context, where so many of the posters and commentators are speaking of the experience of being a woman within the QF lifestyle.
