No suggestions, just wanted to offer my thanks for setting this up! Did you actually have to cut and paste all those posts?

Yes ~ I copied and pasted ~ yikes! Couldn't think of a better way to do it. Thankfully, I'm practiced at that sort of thing ~ so it didn't take too long. I still have several threads left to move over ~ particularly Laura's and my stories. But right now, it's late so I'm going to finish up some other time!

Wow!
Well, now I do have a request: I just went to "Introduce Yourself", and there are no threads started there, so I can't post anything. Apparently, only a "staff member" can start a thread (that would be you and Laura, right?) So, can you put a thread under that heading?

Linnea ~ I just went to the admin board and it's telling me that "Introduce Yourself" is already set to allow registered members to start a new thread. I'm not sure what the problem is ~ maybe try again? I appreciate everyone's patience while we work through all the glitches of a new forum.

Oh, *now* I notice where it says "new thread" in the upper righthand corner.
Duh.

Very nice and readable format Vyckie, THANK YOU.
Are there rules? Can I be obnoxious? LOL!
Also YAY the edit button AND.. I see that there is a limit of characters. Some where around 60,000. OH dear, what will some people do..

Great idea! This oughta make discussions so much easier :D
I see you still have a rather standardized design - do you need help with that? I'd be happy to set you up with something - and it wouldn't be my first forum
*does an awkward bow*
My photoshop is at your service, my liege ;D
Another thing - are you sure you want to make seperate headers for each post? I doubt that there are many threads you can start under such heading - one thread suffices, I think. Also, this blog has existed scarcely two months and already has over a hundred posts - at this pace, with a header for each post, the forum is going to get extremely long.
I personally think you should make seperate forums for the big headers (NLQ Snapshots, What It's all about, etc.) and simply start new threads for each new post. And if the discussion rails off, as it so often does in the comment section, simply start a new topic in the "General Discussion"-section about the shiny new topic that has caught attention *g*

Hi, I made it. I wanted to reply on the Duggar grandchild thread and there is no "Reply" button at the bottom.

Hi Charis ~ you have to go to the top of the post to find the "reply" button. Not sure why it's like that. This forum will take some getting used to ~ but I already feel relieved to have some organization ~ and the conversation is so much easier to follow here. I'm loving the introductions

Hi Vyckie, I looked again at the top and all around and I can't find a reply button anywhere on that thread. On this one, its on the bottom right. I see an option for starting a new thread and I was tempted but resisted for the moment.

Is there any way for us to get an email sent to us when someone replies to a thread we've started or a thread we've responded to? I looked under my profile settings and don't see this option.

Erika ~ I just went looking and don't see where we have that feature available on this forum. Maybe Kaderin can find it when she has some extra time.

Okay guys, I'm gonna start tinkering with the design now, so things might start to look... weird. Just ignore it Erika, look directly under the thread, in the same column where "reply" is... on the left, there's the option "Bookmark" That should be it.

Erika, look directly under the thread, in the same column where "reply" is... on the left, there's the option "Bookmark" That should be it. Well, that didn't seem to do anything. It's been about 4 or more hours since I did it and it didn't do squat.

Yeah, it seems I was mistaken. If you go to your profile page, you'll see the suboption "Bookmark". I guess it'll always update you about your bookmarked threads.
I've looked, but it doesn't seem like this forum provider supports this function. Sorry ó.ò
(And on a sidenote - that help board is crapshot *grrr*)

Is there an option where we can click "find new posts"?

Is there an option where we can click "find new posts"? You can click on "View the 30 most recent posts of this forum" under Forum Statistics in the lower left.

I was going to post to the "I have too many kids" thread but there is no reply option. Do you want us to start a new thread in some forums?

Arietty ~ I'm still working on transferring comments over and getting all the threads going here. The one for "I have too many kids" will be working shortly Kaderin suggested that maybe instead of having a new board for each of the NLQ posts as I've been doing here, I should consolidate the specific posts as threads ~ I can kind of like the idea ~ just not real thrilled with the idea of moving all those boards that I've already set up around. Ugh. Knowing me, I'll probably do it.

Whoops.. well I posted a new thread. Feel free to delete or move.
I think copying all the comments is good but you may find people intimidated about replying to a massive tome of a post. Maybe sticky the post with all the blog comments and then start an new, Open for business thread with the same title?

Does this type of forum set up only allow you to post one picture at a time and then disable the feature for a while?
