Hi there. I'm Philosimphy - which if you are wondering is a cross between the words philosophy and "the Sims" - YES the game, I'm that much of a nerd. I'm such a nerd that I'll even mention that it's the Sims2, lest anyone think I'm stuck living in the past. I'm your standard Godless Liberal Feminist with a touch of the ADD, and I'm kinda shy, so that's all for now...

Hey, you forgot 'angry' I welcome you, for I am a Feminist Geek (which I believe is a very close relative of the Feminist Nerd), though not of the Sims variety. I got the film 'thang goin' on! Oh, and, a slow steady intake of beer, I've found, does wonders for the ADD and is cheaper than paxil for the uninsured

Ah yes! Angry too....luckily though since I'm a chick I usually just end up crying. ------- also, I wanted to add a little bit to my introduction - I feel like a voyeur. I've never been in a situation like those described here. I've never been religious, never abused, never married, never pregnant. But I am a woman, so there's that. At least. Or at most, maybe. See, I'm really into women's rights. Specifically, sex worker rights. When I was 29 I made the conscious choice to become an independent operator. I learned so much from it, - not about sex, but about life and assumptions and choices, - and I am grateful I made the choice to do it. The curious can read through this long, rambling, somewhat repetative post. happilybitter.wordpress.com/2008/12/01/the-biological-contract-of-reproduction. Because sex workers rights is pretty much "my cause", I've done a lot of research into how laws against prostitution came to be. No matter where I started, all roads led to male-controlled religion, and way back to the very beginning of those religions. It's all about co-opting womens sexuality, and restricting it to control it's power, or using it to transfer the power to - and between - men. It's been that way for thousands of years, and many people would like to see it continue for thousands more. It's insidious, and terrifying. That's why I think the stories here are so important. It all makes me so sad, so sad for the females, sad for the world and what it could have, if only it would LISTEN to the females, even when we are crying. oh - and this:
