I'm Barb Roberts, author of "Not Under Bondage".
I 'm a Christian survivor of domestic abuse. I was not part of a church culture which promoted enlarging the Kingdom by having lots of babies and bringing them up in such terror of the Lord (a distorted view of the Lord) they they would be scarred for life. My main problem was that in an abusive marriage as a bible believing Christian I thought there were no grounds for divorce and I was in sin if I did not submit to my husband, including submitting to his abuse.
My book "Not Under Bondage: Biblical Divorce for Abuse, Adultery and Desertion" was the result. It is not my personal story. It's an analysis of all the divorce texts with particular focus on what they say about domestic abuse. It sets victims free from bondage and false guilt.

I'm working on a second book that will also deal with domestic abuse and the Bible, covering the biblical concepts of headship and submission, suffering, Biblical case studies of abuse, repentance (phony versus genuine), can you take a brother to court, how the church can help, rebuilding your life after separation, etc.
