I grew up in a quiverfull family. I was home schooled and have 8 younger siblings.
I am really glad to see this site is talking about the impact of quiverfull on the children.

Good morning, and welcome..."theothermother"... We will be looking forward to more of your story. LOL...Vyckie sometimes calls me "Motherlyotherly", so your log in name struck me. I have been trying to log onto your "Patriarchal bile (OOPS) Bible" blog for about half an hour now...OOHHH, this cotton pickin' dial-up! Anywho, bless you for your story and "catch ya later!"

Welcome, theothermother!
Did you catch that Supernanny episode with the ten kids and Supernanny's reaction to how the older siblings were being pressed into servitude? She set those parents straight pretty quick! The family name was Costello.
It is completely unfair to make older kids parent younger siblings when they still need time and space to be kids and receive nurturing themselves.

Welcome! I am the oldest of 8 as well ;D I love your log in, I picked Coraline up at the library after being intrigued by the description and how it relates to QF. Sometimes when I am feeling silly I walk through the house saying wickedly "I am the Other Mother. Wahaa haa haa" It cracks me up ;D ;D
