Oh, my. That must have been awful to experience. Glad to know you don't have to put up with that anymore!

This made me really sad. I'm sorry that you had to have such a dreaded part of your childhood.

I never really realized what kind of hold this memory had on me... for the past few days I've been watching the kiddos so mom could be in NYC. From the moment I walked in the door, I was cleaning, washing dishes, going crazy at the mess. It actually had me panicking. Totally weird and random but I thought I'd throw that in here. Thankfully I was able to relax a little last night and enjoy my siblings.

Everytime Vyckie posts something about you, I think about how incredibly strong you are!
I do wonder, though, and I hope you don't mind my nosiness, do you ever talk to your father now?

Angel, that has to be one of the saddest-- and most infuriating-- things I have ever read in my life. How could that man have treated a child like that?
May you continue to heal as you realize more and more that you don't have to be perfect or perform to some impossible standard. When you do the dishes, you do them your way-- and don't let anyone tell you it's the wrong way!
Argh. I wish I could be there with 5-year-old you, and make your step-father wash all those knives he knocked on the floor, while you went to your room to play.
*hugs from an indignant mom*

Thanks for the sympathy! Sometimes I really get frustrated about my past. Someone asked if I ever talk to him now... no, I don't. He tries to contact me occasionally, but I haven't talked to him since October of 2007. I've seen him when I drop the kids off for visitation, and that alone makes me all emotional. So it's best not to talk to him right now.

Take care of yourself and do what you need to do to heal. Distance can sometimes help with that. Just love yourself and heal and grow.
*Hugs*
