A friend in the Quiverfull lifestyle pointed me at this site. I am a mother of 7 who lived the Quiverfull lifestyle and divorced after 23 years. It wasn't the lifestyle, it was because my husband committed a horrendous crime I couldn't forgive. After we separated, I recognized the control that I had been living under and swore I would never live that way again. I'm glad to find this site although I don't know how much I'll visit. My divorce was several years ago and I've been on my own since and love the freedom I have in my life.

montanajem, I would love it if you would share, if you check back in, some about what life was like right after your divorce, as you came out of the controlling mindset. Some of us are in the process of divorce, or just after one, still trying to put all the pieces back together and figure out where to go from here. It is always so good to have hope that, yes, it truly *can* be done.

I commend you for having the courage to leave your husband even though there must have been massive pressure not to.

MontanaJem I hope you will post more! I have 8 children myself and have been divorced for 11 years, ex-homeschooler etc.. yes nothing beats that freedom, it makes up for all the poverty and uncertainty. It's exhilarating.
