Although I have no background or exposure to the issues at hand, I've gotten so much from lurking here and reading your stories. In return for the education, I thought I'd bring something heartening from former President Carter, a recent speech to the Parliament of World Religions on the vital role of religion in providing a foundation for – or correcting – the global scourge of discrimination and violence against women No doubt fundamentalists of all stripes would dismiss his wise words if they weren't actively avoiding them already (and we could probably play a pretty good round of "list the reasons") but that doesn't make it one bit less uplifting for me - and I'm not even religious. www.cartercenter.org/news/editorials_speeches/parliament-world-religions-120309.html Thank you so much for the courage and the education - keep your heads up and your feet moving forward. You are worth it!
