Hi, I met Laura in 1994 when I first moved to Nebraska. I was expecting my sixth child at the time. Laura's sixth is seven months younger than mine. I had six children because I love children and wanted lots. I read Cheaper by the Dozen when I was in junior high and my husband often teased that he was going to sue the authors because I wanted 12 children. I'm grateful that he agreed to having the six. I was the more judgmental one in our marriage and am thankful that my husband modeled grace and mercy for me. We will celebrate our 29 anniversary in June. While our marriage is no more perfect than the two people who make it, I am grateful for these 29 years and look forward to many more. Laura has always held a special place in my heart, even when she was parroting Dale's teachings. I could always see her heart underneath the judgment and a precious heart it is. She is an amazing mother and her children are blessed to have her for a mother. My heart has been broken for Laura and it does my heart good that you all are encouraging her and walking with her on this painful path. When I heard that Laura had left Dale, the only thing I could think was, "She just wanted to be loved." I probably won't be around a lot. I'll just be checking in to make sure my friend is growing, learning and being cared for. I love you all for loving my friend. Carrie

Hi Carebear! I'm glad that Laura has such a good friend in her life.
I do hope you will post when you visit because you have a valuable perspective, having watched Dale in action from outside.
I think we all naturally feel for what Laura is going through and if all we can do is support her from afar, we are all happy to do so.
