I'm in my late 20s, recently married, non-religious, and don't want kids. (So, I'm pretty far from the Quiverfull lifestyle ). We have a cat, and that's quite enough for me.

Hi, somewoman! I have a few friends who prefer having one or more cats to having kids. I certainly think that having kids is a lot of work and only people who really want to should do it. My friends are always running into people who want to talk them into having kids and I just can't understand that. Shouldn't it be their choice?

Cats are bad enough as it is... I will never forget curling up into my nice warm bed with freshly washed covers and placing my hand right into a pile of lukewarm cat vomit.

Hey somewoman ~ just wanted to say, "Hi" ~ it's good to have you here. Seems to be more than a few cat lovers here ~ so you're in good company. If you don't mind my asking, where are you from? I'm also curious ~ what brought you to NLQ? Looking forward to getting to know you.

One of the pluses of people babies, though, is that once they're past the age of, oh, one or so, they can warn you about the vomit. Not that they always do, but they can. ;D

Welcome. I also have two fur kids that say "Meow" a lot. My mom has long since reconciled that she has a pair of grand cats. My boyfriend's dad keeps hinting that he wants grand kids but he just isn't going to get them. He will have to be content with the cats.
