I don't always comment on each blog post, but I so enjoy and appreciate all the different stories being told here at NLQ, including this new series... When you come out of this lifestyle and/or kind of family, you feel SO ALONE...and, often, the patriarchal ("biblical family") movement TELLS you that you are all alone, that you are the RARE and ODD one who has a bad experience, that something must be wrong with you (never, never, never the "biblical family" theology, never, never, never the patriarchal camp, oh no, never!)... All of these stories we are telling stand together as one and loudly proclaim that there is a REAL and VALID problem with the QF/patriarchy/"biblical-family" movement. It is so wonderful to have so many of us lending our stories and our voices to this project. ((((((hugs)))))) to all...

Thank you for your support. Many Hugs to Vyckie for all her support and strength that she has!! It is so very hard to live up to everyone elses expectations of what "they think" a Christian should be, look like, act like, and portray. I find myself nowadays, when someone asks me if I am a Christian, I answer, "That depends on what your definition of the word Christian is" If their definition of a Christian is an, in your face bible thumper, or holier-then-thou type of Christian, then I suppose that I no longer want to be called a Christian in todays definition of it. I am so tired of being labled anything really. I am also so very tired of living up to everyone elses expectations and self rightous judgement. I would much rather be called a no-body on a journey...

As far as I'm concerned, a Christian is someone who believes in Christ. Get more complicated than that, and you're just trying to draw lines to exclude someone. And that is not my problem, I don't care whether I fit this or that definition.
Anyway, I'm really looking forward to reading more of this story.

I am always interested in what happens to the older women coming out of QF. I am one and I have seen enough posts on boards from women in their mid 40's longing for more children to realize that fertility and youth is idolized in these circles.

I am new here and couldn't seem to find the story Model of a Christian woman. I'm not sure how this all works. I used to post with "Full Quiver" women back in 1997, and they were do determined that the only way to be pleasing to God was to have as many children as you possibly could. Some of them even went to so far as to say that the only time a woman was performing her true function was when she was either pregnant or nursing. I'd really be interested to hear how some of them are doing now.
