Wow, that's some pretty blatant hypocrisy there. Ick.
I know I'm always asking minute practical questions, which is probably boring, but here's another one:
You mean, all at once? I mean, if you were old enough to wear a bra, you also had to have an undershirt? (I'm imagining a corset cover...) Were the bloomers like biking shorts or longer? I mean, my girls--like most--like to wear leggings or shorts under skirts so they can play without worry, but I'm assuming that a) you weren't allowed to play like that and b) they weren't so sporty.

Oh, for crying out loud, the very first bit had me furious. "Do all this to dress appropriate BUT don't be overly concerned with your appearance cuz that's vain!" If I recall my college psych courses correctly that's what they call a double bind, yes? Used to be considered a cause of schizophrenia, but really more likely to just cause extreme anxiety and misery from being incapable to fulfill both demands.

Bloomers?? Good grief. That's ridiculous.
So, you mention the hair. I have always wondered about ATI hair. That is... It always looks the same on girls--like the Duggar girls' hair. Every ATI girl I knew as a teenager had that same hair. What was the justification for it? Why couldn't you just put it up in a bun? Or back in a braid? Or anything?
I mean, I know about "braided, adorned" hair, but I always found the identical hair stylings in ATI a little...weird.

And if the issue is actually "adornment" as such... And spending too much time on one's personal appearance... Doesn't it take a *lot* of time to get all of those curls right? I have naturally curly hair, and it looks nothing like ATI curls. That's a practiced, labor-intensive look as far as I can tell...
