I am good friends with Tapati. I am just trying to clear some things up with her. If I think her facts are wrong or her sources are flawed, I am going to let her know because I am sure she wants correct information and sources.

However, present ISKCON organization is no longer one of my concerns. I'm more interested in how the beliefs as presented by the founder influenced the social dynamics to the detriment of women.

I will be writing a new installment soon, promise, I've just been plagued with migraines this week. I am one of those women who is triggered by my cycle, so I get a week/week and a half or so of migraines each month close together. Ugh.

Tapati, I just thought of this the other day, and when I saw that you are in the throes of another migraine, it hit me... I went to the ER with one several years ago, got charged around $400 for it, and one of the itemized things was a bottle of GATORADE, $10.00! The on-call doctor said I was severely dehydrated, which was his explanation for the migraine. Well, long story short, after realizing the darn stuff really DID take care of the pain, and seeing that $10 charge, Gatorade is never in short supply at our house. Now the SECOND I feel one coming on (pain) I drink some. It seems to be working for me. Another thing, I carry a bottle of water everywhere I go. I ain't ever going to let myself get dehydrated again. Hey, I know we are all looking forward to your next Over the Rainbow post! Hurry up and get better, OK? (((HUGS)))

I do watch my fluid levels and electrolyte balance. Hormones are a major trigger for me, though, as is weather (air pressure). I pray for menopause these days.

Tapati, you said: "Hormones are a major trigger for me, though, as is weather (air pressure). I pray for menopause these days. " WHEW! I totally get it about the weather, as when it changes it affects my fibromyalgia, too. Ouchies everywhere! No, don't pray for menopause...it carries its own set of hormonal problems with it. Wait until you experience a hot flash...had to be a MAN who coined that phrase...it's not a hot flash...it's a total NUCLEAR MELTDOWN! YIKES!

But I'd rather have more hot flashes than more migraines! From everything I've read, most women who have frequent migraines experience almost total relief after menopause. I'll still react to weather, probably, but at least the peri-menopausal fluctuations in hormones will calm down.
